Carlo Ancelotti wants his Real Madrid players to remain calm as they target a first victory in four attempts over city rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Copa del Rey holders trail 2-0 from the first leg against Diego Simeone's team, whom they have not beaten since last season'sChampions League final.
Italian Ancelotti fears an away goal will all but end the last-16 tie.
He said: "We need to be intense but we also need to have a cool head because we have 90 minutes to do it."
With the exception of long-term injury victim Luka Modric, Ancelotti has a full squad to choose from.
He must decide whether to restore Cristiano Ronaldo to the starting line-up after the Portuguese World Player of the Year was rested for the first leg.
Atletico saw their title chances suffer a blow when last season's champions were beaten 3-1 by second-placed Barcelona on Sunday.
Atletico have no new injury worries and manager Simeone could give Fernando Torres his second start since signing on loan from AC Milan.
Simeone said the 30-year-old former Chelsea striker has an important role to play at the club.
"I know he is going to bring something extra because he wants to. I believe he will give us a big hand," he said.
